Dr. Frank W. Elwell received a doctoral degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Albany, master’s degrees from SUNY-Albany and SUNY-New Paltz, and a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Michigan University. He is the author of the books A Commentary on Malthus’ 1798 Essay on Population as Social Theory (Lewiston, NY: Edwin Mellen Press, 2001), The Evolution of the Future (Westport, Conn.: Praeger Press, 1991) and “Industrializing America” (Westport, Conn.: Praeger Press, 1999). His areas of academic specialty include social evolution, industrialization, cultural ecology, and social theory. He has extensive experience in utilizing technology in the classroom, including the development of online classes, class web pages, classroom presentation programs, and data analysis presentation programs.
